She didn't lose herself.

She went out into the world and became someone.

She built the career, raised the family, crossed the ocean, broke the ceiling. She adapted. She thrived. She became, in many ways, the best version of herself.

But somewhere in the becoming, she left something behind.

Not her ambition. Not her grace. Not her power.

Her rituals.

"Her skin rebounded. It always does, when you return to what works."

Prodigal Queens was born from a personal reckoning. When our founder Audrey moved from the humid South to the cold coastal air of Monterey, California, her skin paid the price. Finding a hairstylist was nearly impossible. Her skin cracked. Her routines stopped working. And the beauty industry — with its endless new launches, its pH-disrupting twelve-step systems, its watered-down products dressed up in luxury packaging — offered no real answers.

So she went back.

Back to black soap. Back to Shea butter. Back to witch hazel. Back to the three-product simplicity that had once turned a full face of hyperpigmentation into radiant, even brown skin — with nothing but consistency and trust in what nature already provided.

Her skin rebounded. It always does, when you return to what works.

That returning is what Prodigal Queens is built on.
